The Allure of a Matte Lip

Understanding the relationship between women and their lipstick is like figuring out how much plants need water. It's not a luxury, but a necessity, well, almost. There's just something about the flawless colour on the lips that lifts the face in one swift slick. And we're talking high density colour here, not the sheer gloss you wore when you were at school.

Beauty brands have evolved ALOT since then and nothing says grown up sophistication more than a matte lip. Right now, we're won over by Chanel's latest range of lipsticks; Rouge Allure Velvet. Unlike most matte lip colours, which can leave your lips dry and taut, these are just as moisturising as satin/creamy formulas. We tried No.32 La Ravissante (pictured), the most natural looking bright pinky coral, the kind that suits all skin tones.

Lust & Found had the pleasure of receiving mini make-overs at a temporary Chanel Rouge Allure photo booth at Harvey Nichols London. Make up artists were on hand to match a shade from the new lipstick range to shoppers on the 4th floor, and have their photo taken in the booth. If only we could keep that giant bottle of No.5 perfume.

Chanel Rouge Allure is available at Selfridges, Harrods and Debenhams.
