Rabeanco lands in the UK

We'd not heard of bag label Rabeanco until recently, when we stumbled across the new flagship store in Covent Garden's busy Long Acre.

Little did we know that the luxury accessory line actually originated in the 1980's, quietly growing into a worldwide brand with stand alone stores in Antwerp, Shanghai, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. Stores in Covent Garden and Bluewater are the first of many for the UK, as the premium label plans to expand it's European market.

"We were not actively seeking to open a London store at this time, it just seemed to make sense to do it and everything else has fallen into place," said the label's director Andrew Ng. "Having our own shop in the UK allows us to offer the full comprehensive collection of all ranges and use our knowledge of the products to sell directly to customers. We'd like to open more retail outlets in Europe as the brand grows."

And we're sure you'll be seeing a lot more of Rabeanco on your high street, bridging the gap between the designer leather goods and the choice you get with high street products. We reckon Rabeanco has a place in the premium high street category, alongside Whistles, Reiss, and popular French labels such as Maje and Sandro. With wallet-friendly (compared to your Mulberrys and Anya Hidmarch's) price points starting from £159 for a box cross body bag, up to £300 for a large leather shoulder bag (still reasonable), it's accessibility has mass appeal.

Costs aside, what makes Rabeanco's bags stand out in today's crowded fashion market is the amount of choice. Styles range from clutches, bowler bags, totes, satchels, hobos to laptop bags, all in the softest buttery Italian leather. Accessories come in the form of the make up bags, wallets, card holders, and phone cases. Most styles come in up to 10 colour ways, complimenting your personal style, again, highlighting that mass appeal.

London's Rabeanco flagship store in Covent Garden is now open.
