When we received an email from new independent publisher, Abnormal Data Processing
describing it's first release Archivo De Pivo
as combination of a travel book, diary, photography book and graphic design book, we knew we were in for a visual treat. Edited and designed by an Amsterdam based polymath (who remains anonymous), who has shifted between various disciplines from writer, photographer, designer, artist and editor. The 320 page book is a product of modern times and the DIY culture of self publishing.
The content is a personal display of the author's travels, adventure and memories around the world, with stories from Okinawa, Kyoto, Mexico, Iceland, Amsterdam and more. The design is modern with a playful aesthetic full of gradiants, cut outs and an adventurous colour palette to match. Looking at the spreads and the video of the book, Archivo De Pivo
feels more akin to a printed travel/design blog than a conventional design book.
