L.A.'s Standard Hotel launches own Biergarten

Live in L.A.? Love beer and German sausages? Then you'll be pleased to know that The Standard in Downtown L.A. is following the footsteps of it's New York branch, and opening The Biergarten on its rooftop. The casual, open-air spot will feature a classic German menu from acclaimed Austrain chef Kurt Gutenbrunner and a selection of beers on tap. Guests can purchase tickets for food and drink at the entrance before sitting down at the communal tables located on the rooftop's grassy knoll. The 105 seats perched above the city offer stunning views and are first come, first serve. Menu items include currywurst, a spicy pork bratwurst with curry and white radish salad, as well as Bavarian Weisswurst (made with white veal and pork), cucumber and potato salad. Drinks such as Bitburger Premium Pils, Licher, a German Hefweizen, and Koestrizer Dark Bier will please any beer lover. Servers wear on-theme t-shirts with screen printed tromp l'oeil lederhosen and dirndls, garments normally worn during Oktoberfest and at biergartens all over the world. We say "Prost!" to that.
