Just because the winter chill is sweeping the capital, doesn't mean your night out options are whittled down to another night in with a dvd and take-out or sitting by the fire in an old-man pub. Now back by popular demand, the fairy light adorned Wigwambam is back in Shoreditch's Queen of Hoxton
Looking over London's skyline, the giant teepee sits on the roof of the East London venue and is a must-visit spot if you're after something more than your usual after-work boozer. With an indoor bar and gigantic Schwenkgrill (something we need) hanging from the centre of the teepee, Wigwambam serves a glorious selection of heart-warming food and drink. Haunch of venison, leg of pork, and veggie stews were cooked just the way you would at a campfire/festival. Winter tipples included spiced mulled cider, hot buttered Santa Teresa rum as well as the usual bottled beers. One of the culinary highlights however had to be the smores, toast yourself marshmallows (yes there are several mini bonfires) sandwiched between chocolate and biscuits brought back memories of yesteryears school days.
The only downer is the smokey smell that remains on your clothes, definitely worth it though. We'll be back for the hot toddy alone! WigWamBam is open now until March 2013 at Queen of Hoxton
